Pole Dance is a form of dance that combines elements of gymnastics, dance, and acrobatics around a vertical bar, known as a "pole". In classes, participants learn fluid movements, choreographies, and acrobatics that require strength, flexibility, and coordination. In addition to physical benefits such as muscle strengthening and increased flexibility, Pole Dance promotes empowerment and personal expression, appreciated as a unique form of art that welcomes individuals of various backgrounds, regardless of age, fitness level, or gender.
At Studio UP!, we offer a structured progression with three distinct levels: Pole 1, Pole 2, and Pole 3. Each level is designed to challenge and inspire practitioners, allowing for a gradual evolution in their pole skills.
Pole 1: Fundamentals and Introduction to Inversion
In this introductory level, participants learn the essential fundamentals of Pole Dance. From basic movements to first inversions, this phase is dedicated to building a solid foundation, developing strength and coordination to prepare practitioners for more advanced challenges. No previous dance or sports experience is necessary; you can start from scratch.
Pole 2: Intermediate
As participants progress to the intermediate level, they refine their skills, exploring more complex transitions, intermediate spins, and deepening their understanding of technique. It is designed to challenge physical endurance and encourage artistic expression in Pole Dance.
Pole 3: Advanced
In the advanced level, practitioners master advanced techniques, more challenging movements, and choreographed sequences. At Studio UP!, we believe in creating a supportive and encouraging environment. Our highly qualified instructors are dedicated to guiding each practitioner on their Pole Dance journey to ensure they reach their full potential.
For your first Pole class, wear any comfortable clothing like yoga or gym wear. Also, bring shorts and tops in your backpack, as direct skin contact with the pole creates a delicate friction that helps us maintain desired positions with grace and firmness.
